This event, organized by Cluster Sofia Knowledge City in partnership with the Joint Innovation Center of BAS and TUES, focused on developing a model for a Center of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) in the ICT sector. During the workshop, Dr. Milena Koleva opened the event with an overview of the InvesTech project’s objectives—particularly the establishment of CoVEs in Bulgaria, Lithuania, Greece, Cyprus, and Slovakia. These centers aim to create a cohesive platform to enhance vocational education and align it with industry needs across Europe. Key presentations included: Teodora Sotirova from the Joint Innovation Center, who shared insights from a focus group on skill gaps in the ICT industry. Rositsa Stelianova from the Association of Industrial Capital in Bulgaria, who discussed integrating vocational education with industry. Kirilka Angelova, Executive Director of the TUES Alumni Association, who presented the unique educational model of TUES. Prof. Antoineta Kirova from MT&M College, who introduced the European approach to microcredentials in vocational training. The event concluded with an engaging discussion on the role of CoVEs in transforming vocational education. TUES graduates and young entrepreneurs voiced the need for evolving the vocational training framework to address the fast-changing demands of the ICT sector. The workshop concluded with a networking session hosted by Cluster Sofia Knowledge City, fostering further collaboration and idea exchange.
